Robert Yates watched this one for us...
Deeping Rangers reserves hosted rivals Crowland Town in their first home league game of the season.
The first half sprung into life in the 11th minute with Deeping taking the lead following a great ball across the face of goal and the forward following it in.
The lead didn’t last long straight after the restart Crowland levelled with a ball hitting the inside of the post before dropping in. On the 36th minute Deeping retook the lead Crowland defenders allowing the home forward to turn inside the box and smash the ball past the keeper. It was a lead we never lost.
Half time: Deeping 2-1 Crowland
Deeping then extended the lead 10 minutes into the 2nd half with a shot from just inside the box.
A minute later we scored again a great forward run driving into the box and slotting it past the keeper.
Deeping scored a 5th just past 70 minutes another great run through the Crowland defence and planting it past the keeper.
10 minutes from time a slight lapse of concentration from the Deeping defence allowed Crowland to get a brilliant ball into the box and a simple header past the keeper. Deeping then scored a 6th and final goal from the penalty spot after the onrushing attacker was brought down in the box. A great team display from Deeping.
Full time: Deeping 6-1 Crowland
Deeping reserves travel to Chatteris Town this Saturday (17th) before then hosting Deeping United on Wednesday (21st)
