This was a local derby that had everything. Controversial goals, penalty decisions, red cards given, yellow cards not given and an injury time belter to win it.
But before we get to that, let's rewind.
Rangers were rapidly out of the blocks for this one with Bailey Baker carving out a great chance in the opening two minutes that fizzed just wide. Deeping were doing what the Manager had asked of them for a few weeks now and starting a match with the same vigor they were finishing them with.
Jacob Goodley also could have scored but mid-way through the first half the home side started to take a grip and Deeping started to fall deeper, inviting some pressure.
The opening goal from Cal Davies (who else!) came after failure to clear our lines. Although Fin Henderson had a strong claim for a foul in the build up, but it wasn't seen as such by the officials.
Davies showed the skill we loved him so much for in his spell with Deeping skipping by tackles into the area and firing home.
It was a hammer blow to Brett Whaley and his side as they headed in to half time.
The second half started in a niggly nature with some of the tackles, gamesmanship and pressure applied to the officials that is the hallmarks of a modern day footballing derby.
The introduction of Josh Randall on the hour mark was the thing that changed the game. His pace and trickery down the right hand side stretched the tired Blackstones defence a couple of times in quick succession before a run into the box saw him down and the referee pointing to the spot.
It looked harsh from where I was. The players definitely collided but having seen some of the tackles in the centre of the pitch all game, this wasn't the most reckless of them.
Deeping didn't care and Harvey Thorne stepped up to fire home the spot kick before collecting the ball and heading back to halfway. It was clear from that action that Rangers sensed a change in the games momentum and wanted more than a point.
They got an unexpected helping hand from Kofi Gonsalves, the Blackstones substitute. Within seconds of coming on in the 80th minute he was booked for getting involved off the ball with Jacob Goodley before going down in the penalty area minutes later getting a second yellow for diving.
This knocked the wind out of the home sides sails and a game that had been competitive, end to end and spiky suddenly saw the home side switching their mentality to hanging on for a point more so than the previous 88 minutes.
But Rangers kept going and when Randall picked up the ball on the edge of the box deep in time added on he took a step before curling it round the goalkeepers outstretched right glove into the corner before heading off to celebrate with the Rangers fans.
It was a goal worthy of winning any game at any level and after disappointing results and performances against Blackstones in recent seasons they had their win.
