Arun looks ahead to this one for us...
This coming Monday we travel west to Melton Mowbray to face ‘The Reds’, Melton Town FC.
The hosts have found good form recently, winning their first league win last week in a 3-2 home victory against Ashby Ivanhoe. The week prior they won their first point away against Heanor Town in a tumultuous 2-2 draw, having lost their opening two league fixtures.
However, the Reds may have wanted more from their draw. As the game drew to a close, Melton’s Luther Munakandafa had scored a seemingly 90+3 minute winner,to make it 1-2 to the visitors but, Heanor’s Mason Booth-Davis scored just the next minute as the game ended 2-2.
The importance of a win this week cannot be overstated as the points margin between every team isn’t by any means large. A win could see us from 10th place to 3rd place, while a loss could see us sink into 17th place.
We got the best of Melton Town in our most recent fixture against them, of which was a 1-0 home win in December of last year. The visitors were down to 10 men by the 30th minute and put up well until the 68th minute when Luke Hunnings scored the solitary goal of which was enough for us to take all 3 points.
Prior to a one week break our FA Vase fixture will have surely warmed up the lads to be well prepared to deliver us a crucial 3 points on the road.
