The Rangers crowd cheered their heroes from the first to last whistle but the quality of Boston Town shone through the gloomy weather as they scored late to grab a share of the points.
The weather was a key factor in a quiet first half where there were minimal chances and goal mouth action.
Deeping had some good possession and were the equal of their play off chasing opponents.
The game erupted in the second half when a defensive mix up saw the Boston goalkeeper caught in no-mans land and Dan Dougills shot eventually found its way into the net prompting wild scenes behind the goal.
This calamity woke Boston up and they showed their quality stepping up a gear creating chances.
The home defence stood firm for all but one of those opportunities but the weight of pressure of the home goal saw it finally opened up with a neat finish from Cotton.
Both sides understood that a draw wasn't ideal for either and pushed until the final whistle to try and get the win.
It stayed level though with Finlay Henderson the Rangers man of the match.
