Up next for the Rangers is an away trip to Heanor Town; a clash that is sure to be an interesting one!
A bit more on the hosts….
Heanor finished 13th last campaign finishing just 2 points behind the Rangers. This was thanks to Jamie Sleigh who netted on 24 occasions for the Lions
Heanor Town have also had some accomplished players and managers at the club. Sammy Crooks has to be mentioned in this list, Crooks was the manager of Heanor Town in the 1959-60 season, but it's his playing career that makes him so accomplished. He had successful spells and Derby County, scoring 111 goals in 445 appearances at the club, and also representing England at senior level, earning 26 caps and scoring 7 goals.
This season has been a slight improvement for the Lions. They sit in 10th on 31 points. The star man this far for the hosts has been Sacha Markelic the 3rd top scorer of the league has scored 26 goals and will certainly be a threat for the Rangers’ defence. He could be the difference between the 2 sides.
New manager Johnny Alflatt will be hoping he guides the Rangers to a vital 3 points and a positive start to his managerial career at the club.
