Rangers lose ground in play off race

Deeping fell to 6 points off the play off spots in the UCL Premier Divsion North following this defeat to Newark & Sherwood.

With Dan Dougill and Callum Davies back from Holbeach where they played last week, there was also a debut for Michael Armstrong who is dual registered from Stamford of the Southern League.

It was the home side who started strongest and were ahead on the half hour before taking that lead into the break.

Rangers conceded a second just after the hour and rode their luck a bit before recent signing Rob Conyard pulled one back.

Almost immediately though, a red card for skipper Tom Smith saw the fight back curtailed and despite penalty shouts for both sides it was Newark & Sherwood who took the three points.
