There was much to admire about this Deeping Rangers performance.
The home side stood up to a side getting plaudits as likely UCL Premier Division North Champions elect, twice leading at a sweltering Haydon Whitham Stadium.
The Rangers attack is starting to take shape now. Tom Waumsley leading the line with Matt Sparrow getting the ball into him in the box.
These two experienced UCL winners being backed up by up and coming Callum Davies and Eliott Foster who show pace and trickery beyond their years.
Once their opposition has got to grips with that set up, we can introduce Avelino Vieira from the bench. Frightening.
In the end though the point was gained by the defence with David Burton-Jones and debutant keeper Michael Duggan rightly being singled out for player of the match contention. Duggan got the nod.
After a competitive start the home side broke the deadlock when Sparrow fired in a right wing cross that Waumlsey brought under control before firing in at the near post.
Eastwood are a good side and levelled on the brink of half time, finally breaking through after stretching Duggan athletically a couple of times.
As the second half ebbed and flowed, it was Vieira from the bench who scored as the game entered the last quarter.
Again Eastwood got back level before the frantic final few minutes where both sides could have nicked it with snatched chances.
However, the draw feels the right result.
