It was a frustrated Deeping bench at half time in this Charity Cup final.
Johnny Lockie (twice) and Lewis Arber having strong penalty claims waved away as Rangers tried to get back into the game after an early Calum Law header had given the visitors the lead.
It was a pretty open first half where both teams had their chances. Lockie with Rangers best with a cross shot that had the power but not the direction.
The penalty calls did break up the flow of the game and Chris Lenton, in charge of the home team this evening, cut a frustrated figure as he walked back to the dressing room.
A raft of half time changes saw Deeping out of the blocks fast, and it was Oleks Muzychuk, freshly from the bench, who ghosted in at the far post to smash home the equaliser. We were now up and running.
The forward line was now functioning with little flicks and passes opening up the Harrowby defence.
It took until midway through the half for us to go ahead. Byron Adiado picked up the ball on the edge of the box before throwing an outrageous dummy causing the centre back to slip. He found himself clean through on goal and calmly beat the ongoing 'keeper to get the winner.
The Arrows did come back at Deeping in the final 20 minutes but the defence held firm to pick up the cup.
Well done to Lenny and the team for this win.
