Jack and Arun's preview

St Neots Town currently call New Rowley Park their home, but this hasn’t always been the case.

They were established in 1879 and originally played on the local pitches in the town, until, in 1899 they moved to the Shortsands Ground.

The Saints would stay there for a further 88 years until they were evicted from the ground. In 1993 the Saints moved to Rowley Park. Within a few seasons they moved again, just a few metres to New Rowley Park, a ground clearly visible on the train ride from Peterborough to London Kings Cross.

In their most recent campaign, they finished 18th, accumulating 32 points, which, unfortunately wasn’t enough to keep them in the Northern Premier League, and has meant they’ve dropped down to the UCL Premier Division South.

St Neots are a highly decorated side winning 10 league titles 2 of them being the UCL. They have held the Huntingdonshire cup an impressive 38 times! The saints also obtained 4 league cups also winning the Hinchingbrooke Cup and Fellowes Cup once. Their best run in the FA Cup was back in the 1966/67 season in which they reached the first round after qualifying but were beaten 2-0 away at Walsall.

In terms of famous ex-coaches, 1 stands out, Barry Corr. Corr took over the Saints on the 6th of January 2020, they were second from bottom of the Southern Central league. He left a year later when Covid-19 stopped the season, he left St Neots Town in 3rd after 11 games and reaching the 2nd round proper of the FA Trophy, the best in the club's history.

A year after his departure from the club Corr was appointed as first team coach of Cambridge Utd having already had 2 successful spells with them during his playing career.

Famous players include former Aston Villa striker Stefan Moore who was part of their UCL title winning run and Steve Kuhne who is a local non league legend!
