Deeping were left defeated but put in an impressive display against higher division opponents Corby Town.
This pre-season friendly was played in a competitive spirit with Rangers making the early running and holding on to possession of the ball nicely.
Much fancied Corby came into the game late in the first half and for most of the second. However, the home side defended really strongly offering up only a few chances to their visitors.
The deadlock was broken in the last 15 minutes when a bobbling ball was prodded home to open the scoring. A neat finish added a second in the last few minutes.
Rangers will go away happy with their ability to soak up pressure from higher division opponents. Something to take into the match against Conference North side Peterborough Sports this midweek.
