Corby's nickname, the Steelmen, derives from the old steel works that were in Corby.

They were founded in 1948, taking over from the main team in the town Stewarts and Lloyds (themselves a former UCL club).

Steel Park has been their home since 2011, it has a capacity of 3,893 people with 577 seats with an impressive kop at one end of the ground.

Most recently, Corby Town finished 7th in the Northern Premier League – Midlands Division racking up 67 points.
Their top Scorer last season was Daniel Gordon who scored a total of 11 league goals.

The Steelmen also have an impressive all-time top scorer, David Hofbauer, he scored 159 goals in 11 years at the club (1984-1995).

Corby’s best FA Cup performance was the 3rd round in the 1965/66 season, they bowed out of the competition with a tough 6-0 loss to Plymouth Argyle.

The best FA Trophy performance was when they got to the 3rd round twice 1st in 1986/87 where they were eliminated to Maidstone in a 3-0 loss and a loss in the 2009/10 season to York City.

Their first ever manager, since their establishment was a man called Reg Smith, Smith had previously played for the likes of Millwall and Dundee FC. Whilst playing for England at international level (he had two caps for England scoring two goals!). He was also very decorated as a manager, even winning the Scottish Cup with Falkirk in the 1956/57 season!

Corby won the double in the 1950/51 season winning the United Counties League and the Northamptonshire Senior Cup, they also ended up winning the league the season after.

The Steelmen have held the Northampton Senior Cup a total of 6 times the most recent being in 2012/13 season beating Daventry town and the coming runner ups to Kettering in the 2016/17 season.

They’ve also won the Southern League Midland Division twice back in 2008/09 & 2014/15.
