

The first third of the game was pretty tepid fayre with neither keeper being tested too strongly but it was the home side who had the better of the part chances that came, Jonny Clay rose to meet Dan Schiavi’s corner to head over, Schiavi’s short free kick allowed Scott Coupland space, his shot was pushed away by visiting custodian Alex Engar.
Engar was called upon again as Schiavi advanced to the goal line, his cross being taken by Engar at the second attempt as Coupland was about to pounce.
Rangers took the lead on 34 mins, Charlie Ward fed Scott Mooney, his subtle touch allowed Coupland space, a touch evaded the defender to drive the ball past the advancing Emgar into the corner of the goal.
The visitors responded, Mitch Faishurst pounced on a loose ball to blast goalwards only to hit Clay and loop over the bar.
With half time imminent Rangers doubled their lead, Michael Simpson picked out Mooney, a jink to give space to drive the ball into the top corner past the helpless Engar on 45 mins.

Before St Andrews could settle into the second half they were further behind on 47 mins, Simpson’s pass split the visiting defence to find Coupland, he drew the keeper before feeding Schiavi to shoot in off of the post.
Another was added on 50 mins, Schiavi’s ball into the box was miskicked by Mooney into the path of Simpson to blast home from 6 yards – his celebration suggested he is not a regular score!
The Scott’s combined for number 5 on 57 mins, Mooney’s pass picked out Coupland to collect and slide past the approaching Engar.
A consolation for the visitors came on 63 mins, Deeping sub Charlie Coulson’s wayward pass only found St Andrews Matt Baird, his run into the home box was halted by Clay’s adjudged foul – Baird blasted home from the spot kick.
The visitors were close again as Faishurst’s header crashed against the bar to be cleared.
Respite was short lived for the visitors and the Clarets went further ahead on 69 mins, Coupland played in Mooney who despatched the ball inside the post and dive of Engar.
Number seven for Rangers came on 84 mins, Mooney fed Schiavi wide, his cross was returned to Mooney whose shot was pushed out by Engar where Coulson shot for the far corner of the goal to see James Hogan adjudged to handle – Coupland stepped up to slide home from the spot.
There was still time for Ranger to complete the scoring on 88 mins, Coulson’s cross found Schiavi at the far post to apply the finish.
