It was the home side who had the better of the first half of the half but only threatened the visitors goal once, scruffy Deeping play allowed Djedje Gomes to shoot in the box, his mishit effort finding Liam McInally at the far post but his effort was wide

Deeping took the lead on 34 mins, Dom Page fouled Charlie Coulson, Dan Schiavi’s free kick was met by Tom Waumsley to guide his header past the dive of Martyn Thorpe and inside the post.

At the other end Corinths’ Kalon Peniasko sent Gomes free wide, his cross being too deep for his colleagues and Dan Flack was able to clear.

Rangers were close, a long clearance from defence saw Schiavi in behind the home back line only to see his lob over Thorpe and also too high for the bar, but they did add to the score line on 45+1 mins – Tom Smith curled in a pass into then home box, Waumsley controlled on his chest, swivelled and volleyed past the helpless Thorpe from 16 yards.
