Last weekend, Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th May, Deeping Rangers proudly hosted the annual Neil Olson Memorial Junior Tournament, a key date in our football calendar.
Across the two days, over 600 young players, boys and girls, took to the pitch, showcasing not only their footballing talent but also the spirit of the game. With the sun shining from start to finish, conditions were ideal for a brilliant weekend of grassroots football.
Players from Boys U7 through to U12 competed over both days, delivering high energy matches full of skill and teamwork. For many of our youngest participants in the U7 and U8 age groups, this was an early taste of tournament football, and every player received a Deeping Rangers medal as a memento of their day.
The older age groups were competitive throughout, with the following sides coming out on top:
• U9 Boys Winners: Deeping Rangers Blues
• U10 Boys Winners: Deeping Rangers Blues
• U11 Boys Winners: Orton Rangers
• U12 Boys Winners: City of Peterborough
The Girls U9 and U11 categories ran on Saturday afternoon, and both age groups impressed with their energy and team play. Congratulations to the following winners:
• U9 Girls Winners: Netherton United
• U11 Girls Winners: Deeping Rangers
A huge thank you to all the players, coaches, volunteers, and supporters who helped make the tournament another memorable event. It was a great celebration of junior football, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back next year.
