Manager Brett Whaley introduces our new players to us...
Lewis Arber - Bourne, Wisbech, Godmanchester
Lewis is a talented midfield player who can play different roles in midfield. He’s done really well in pre season and showed against PSL what he’s capable of.
Harvey Thorne - Holbeach
Harvey has impressed all the coaching staff throughout pre season. He’s got really good ability on the ball and is physically suited to this league, and we feel he will create and score goals from an attacking midfield role. I’m excited to see him develop with us this season.
Ben Greenacre - Deeping, Bourne, Holbeach
We watched Ben a couple of times last season and tried to sign him from Holbeach but we weren’t able to get it done, so I’m delighted to finally have him onboard. He’s got pace and defends well at centre back or full back, but also has good ability on the ball, so I think he’ll be a great addition to us.
Ryan Cook - Holbeach
Ryan is another player we watched a could have times last season, and we were really impressed. He is creative and scores goals from a wide area, and we feel he offers something different that we didn’t have last season.
Jacob Goodley - US scholarship
Jacob played for us at Christmas last year when he was back from America and instantly impressed and made a difference. He’s tenacious and hard working but has the ability to get on the ball in the middle of the park. We feel he’s gone under the radar a little bit by being away and we think he’ll really shine this season for us.
Jonny Lockie - Spalding, Skegness, Holbeach
Lockie is well known to everyone at the club and I’m delighted to have him back. It didn’t work out for him last season, mainly down to the situation we were in and he was unfortunate to miss games and fall behind with fitness. He’s been really good across pre season and worked really hard to be ready for the start of the season. We know if we get a fit and firing Lockie he can produce goals and match winning performances for us.
Manager Brett Whaley said "All signings are an indication of the direction we want to take this team. Young local players who are talented and want to be at Deeping Rangers. I feel the squad has massive potential and I’m really excited to see how they develop together alongside the experienced players that finished last season so strongly."
