Johnny Alflatt talks about events that led to his becoming the new Rangers Manager

James - How does it feel to have woken up today as Deeping Manager?

Johnny - It has been a whirlwind 36 hours, it all came out of the blue.

When the Chairman asked me it was a weird situation because normally when you walk in and you take on a management job you walk into to a bit of a mess. That's generally why managers leave.

In this situation that isn't the case. And just on that front, a huge part of me taking the job was Luke and Scott both ringing me and saying they wanted me to do it.

They feel the lads deserved the continuity, at least until the end of the season and it was job I couldn't turn down. Deeping are a good club. Good people. Good committee. Good board.

I'm enjoying my time here.

James - What can fans expect from your team?

Johnny- I think the fans can expect a team that works hard on the pitch and will interact as much as we can with fans and the community.

We want to touch base with the fans a lot. I like the feel of togetherness and and we'll definitely have a team that will work hard.

Look, we will lose some matches. Everyone loses matches, but we'll look to win more than we lose and whatever will be willl be. We are still in it and while we're still mathematically able we will go for the playoffs this season.

James - With that being said, what's the goal for the remainder of this season?

Johnny - Goal for the rest of season is win football matches and see where it takes us.

We'll keep plugging away and we'll do our thing.

We'll pick up as many points as possible and we'll go from there.

James - What would you say to fans to get them to back the new look Rangers side?

Johnny - What I would ask is that you give us a chance. I promise you won't be disappointed. Come down to the ground for a game you won't regret it.

They're a great group of lads that I've had phone calls all morning from. They are fully behind me.

The players were brilliant last night when it when it's announced to them. It was a difficult time but they want to do the absolute best for Deeping Rangers Football Club. They're here for Deeping! I'm here for Deeping!

Let's push on now and give as much as we can.

Also, just I'd like to thank the Chairman and the rest of the committee along with the board for giving me this chance. It's a huge opportunity and one I'd like to I'd like to have a real good go at.
