last 3 seasons since reforming to compete in the PDFL.
A Division 2 title, back to back promotions and the Peterborough Senior Trophy has seen us progress to competing in the Premeir Division.
Most of that success has been delivered by some great back room staff, some of which have decided to focus on personal commitments outside of football for the coming season.
Reserve Team Manager Matt Atkins commented
“I would like to put on record my thanks to Keir O’Sullivan (Assistant Manager), Richard Pickering (Coach) and Calum Parker (Captain and Player Liaison), all of whom have played key roles at training and on match days.
They have given up so much time to support me and the team in achieving our goals over the last 3 seasons.
I wish them well and hope to see them back involved with the club in the future.
We have lost some great experience but change happens and we need to adapt to that.”
With change in mind, we can also announce the appointment of Luca Stiopu in the role of Joint Manager with Matt Atkins who commented
“It was important we backfill the vast experience and enthusiasm we have lost.
In Luca we have found someone who is passionate and committed to the team goals, his football CV speaks for itself with a history in professional and local football.
I am really looking forward to working with him and building some consistency for next season.”
The new addition to Rangers, Luca commented
“I am glad to be offered this opportunity to manage at Deeping Rangers FC Reservers, and I am ready to work hard and fully commit in this role.”
The Reserves will start their pre season training on 24th June, with 3 sessions per week and 7 friendlies to play before the PDFL opening game on Saturday 12 August.
