Deeping fightback secures win

After multiple cancellations of games Deeping Rangers U18s finally returned home to face Godmanchester Rovers U18s in the league.

Godmanchester started the brightest and 10 minutes in an attacker managed to round the the Deeping keeper but unfortunately his shot hit the post.

Deeping then hit the post 20 minutes later from a free kick on the edge of the box.

The home side were awarded a penalty after a poor slide tackle from a defender brought an attacker down. The penalty was calmly put away to give Deeping the lead going into half time.

Godmanchester drew level 10 minutes after the half time break a good shot in the box deflecting of a defender and in.

Minute's later they then took the lead a good ball through to an attacker who placed it past the oncoming keeper. On the 72nd minute Deeping got an equaliser. A lasp in concentration in the Godmanchester defence allowed Deeping to get on the ball and smash it past the keeper.

Deeping then scored what would be the winner a great ball across the box and bundled in. Godmanchester tried there best to get a equaliser but Deeping held on to move to the top of the league.

Deeping U18s next game is on the 10th of March as they host Epworth Colts town AFC in the U18 Lincolnshire cup semi final
