On a cold wet miserable Saturday afternoon Deeping Rangers reserves had a visit from leaders and current league champions Uppingham Town.
Deeping didn't take much time though to take the lead against their visitors. They opened the scoring from a corner whipped in and following a slight scramble poked it home after just 3 minutes.
Uppingham equalised on the 23rd minute a great ball across the front of goal and the forward sliding in to score.
The two sides traded shots in a good competitive rest of the half until the 44th minute when a cross from Uppingham resulted in a good half volley in to the net. The visitors took a 2-1 lead into halftime.
Deeping came out fighting in the 2nd half and midway through a free kick on the edge of the penalty area was perfectly dispatched into the top left hand corner making it all square at 2-2.
10 minutes before the end a good bit of work through the middle of the pitch resulted in Deeping producing a great low drive into the bottom left hand corner to give them the lead.
The home side saw the game out to record a brilliant result against the league leaders.
Next up a trip to Stamford Belvedere FC.
