Thanks as always to Arun and Jack for the first team match previews.

Ashby Ivanhoe up next for the Rangers in what could be an interesting battle!

The Knights were founded in 1948 and currently play their home games at the NFU sports ground which has a capacity of 1,000 located in Ashby-de-la-Zouch. They were promoted from The Midland Football League finishing 2nd accumulating 91 points beating Droitwitch Spa 2-1 on May 6th in the playoff final, also happening to be their record attendance of 836 people.

A hefty amount of these points was due to top scorer Sam Grouse scoring 42 this previous campaign.

As far as records go there are not many for The Knights. Their best FA Cup run came in the 2016/17 season where they bowed out in the first qualifying round to ilkeston in a 6-0 thrashing. The 2016/17 season was certainly a good one as they made more history in the FA Vase reaching the 1st round, bowing out to Hucknall Town in a heart-breaking 4-3 loss.

However, the 2010-11 season was also successtul as they completed the League and Cup double winning the Leicester Cup Senior League and lifting the Coalville Charity Cup beating Bardon Hill 3-2 in the final.

Undoubtably their best season came in the 1996-97 season winning not only the North Leicestershire Premier Division but also the Cobbin trophy and Chairman's Charity shield. In terms of silverware the North Leicestershire Football League Premier Division has been the main provider. The Knights have lifted the trophy a total of four times! These victories came in the 90s and 2000s (1994/95, 1996/1997, 1998/1999, 2002/2003)

This season has brought lots of success for Ashby Ivanhoe. They sit in 10 place with a respectable 42 points under their belt, only 2 points behind the Rangers who can't afford to come away with a loss as a win would see the hosts leapfrog the Rangers to go 8th.

We'll be hoping the Rangers can pick up some more valuable points!

A visit early in the season for an FA Cup tie saw Ashby come out winners.
