Thanks to Arun and Jack for their preview as always.
The club were 'officially' founded in 1921, but unfortunately there are no records of this, only photos.
It's believed the club folded in the 1940s and was reformed in 1969 following the merge of Belper Rangers and Milford Sports.
The club didn't find great success in the years that followed, until the 80s and late 90s. Belper won an astounding 6 trophies in this period!
However, the delight soon turned into dread for supporters when Belper finished bottom of the Premier division in the 2008/2009 season.
The last couple of years have looked brighter both in the league and cup for the Greens. They achieved two club records in the FA Vase and FA Cup last season; reaching the 3rd round of the FA Vase and then the extra preliminary round of the FA Cup!
Compared to the cup success that season was underwhelming to say the least. The Greens finished 14th accumulating 43 points. It could've been worse if not for Richard Hanslow who netted 27 times in that season.
This season has been good so far as Belper are concerned, they are sat in 7th with 29 points. It will certainly be a six pointer that both sides will hope to win. Lets hope the Rangers can pull off a good result here!
