Luke Hunnings returning to Rangers after spells at Bourne, Yaxley and Blackstones. Another joining the ranks of ex-Cuckoos at the club was forward Marley Hamilton who was part of the Yaxley side in the Northern Premier Division in 2022/2023.

Hunnings had a brilliant debut, heading the ball at both ends of the park and was one of the players unlucky to be on the losing side.

Rangers started brightly but were undone by the first Boston attack of the game.

There were chances to get level before half time with both wing backs, Tom Smith and Jon-Paul Duncliffe either rattling the woodwork or forcing the visiting goalkeeper into a save.

The second half was barely 3 minutes old before Tom Waumsley hammered in a dipping, curling equaliser from the edge of the box. You will be hard pushed to see a better goal at Outgang Road this season.

Home supporters breathed a sigh of relief and hoped for more from their side.

However less than 10 minutes later a scramble the home box saw a second Boston goal and Rangers needed to find another comeback.

Despite lots of possession and lots of territory, the goal didnt come. Burton-Jones with a couple of efforts coming the closest.

So another derby without beating Boston. The gap closed between the two rivals in the table and some head scratching for the Deeping coaching team ahead of the trip to Hucknall next weekend.
