Match preview with Arun and Jack
Established in 1963, Town were founded by former officials of Boston United in fear their club would fold.
They play their home games at Tattershall Road that has a 6,000 capacity (450 seated) and received their record attendance of 2,700 in 1970 in a derby playing against Boston Utd in the 3rd FA Cup qualifying round.
In the previous season the Poachers finished in 6th place racking up 67 points in the UCL Premier Division North. A key ingredient being the goals of Fraser Bayliss who scored 21 across the season.
Boston come to Deeping in a poor run of form losing the previous 4/5 fixtures, most recently a 2-1 home loss to Lincoln United.
They currently sit 14th with 18 points but with 3 games in hand to 13th place AFC Mansfield. Deeping for context are 8th on 28 points with 1 game in hand to 7th place Belper Utd. The Peak district side however have a -14 goal difference in comparison to our +14 so a draw would see us into 7th.
The man for our defence to watch on Saturday will be Liam Adams as he’s tied for league goals with Elliot Foster (9) but 2 behind our top scorer this season Tom Waumsley (11).
Boston remain the cleanest side in the league with only 3 bookings all season. 2nd place on the list is 11 bookings.
This should be an entertaining derby and a repeat of last seasons Lincolnshire Cup final which the visitors won 2-0.
