11th October
Sleaford 1-2 Deeping Rangers
Arun and Jack provide this preview for our festive derby with Sleaford.
The Greens were founded in 1923, almost 100 years ago, and you could say that they have been quite successful during their history!
Sleaford play their games at Elsaforde Park, and have been playing there for the past 16 years. It has a relatively high capacity of 1,000 people. It is fair to say the ground has seen some brilliant performances over the years. They were runners up in the UCL Div One, making the first qualifying round in the FA Cup (club record) and reaching the 4th round of the FA Vase would only be mentioning a few.
Last season for the Greens was one to remember, finishing 5th in the UCL Premier Division North accumulating 77 points. The star for the Town had to be Ryan Rushen who netted 22 times for the Greens over the course of the season.
The Greens are 2 places and 5 points behind Rangers as we head into the festive period.
As is usually the case with the UCL there are former players of each club on the park. The most recent being Marcus Pancho who started last season with Deeping before joining Yaxley and then Sleaford in pre-season.
After a tough festive season to date with only a draw at Wisbech in their back pockets, Rangers will be looking for something from this one.
