Arun and Jac return with their match preview...
The Red Badgers were founded in 2014 due to the folding of other Eastwood-based side, Eastwood Town, and interestingly Eastwood C.F.C play their home games at the folded club’s ground, Coronation Park.
The Badgers first entered league and cup football a year after their establishment, joining the FA Vase in 2015, and finishing second in the Central Midlands League- South Division. A brilliant debut season to say the least! It got even better in the following season for the Red Badgers, as they were crowned champions of the division.
In 2021 Eastwood C.F.C were promoted to the Premier Division North of the UCL, this promotion was ultimately based on their results in the two abandoned seasons (2019/20 and 2020/21).
Last season wasn’t the best for Eastwood C.F.C as they finished 16th in the Premier Division North of the UCL. The only shining light for the Red Badgers seemed to be striker Jack Thatcher, who scored 9 goals and got 3 assists for the club.
However, in recent seasons, the FA Vase has been a definite source of success for the club. In the 2018/19 season, they went as far as reaching the fourth round, the furthest in the club’s history!
However, a 4-0 loss to the Rangers meant they couldn’t advance!
This season they have started strongly and are considered among the favourites for promotion.
