We welcome the "Pork Pie Army" to Deeping for this match.
Melton Town were only founded in this guise in 2004 and for their first season, they joined the second division of the Leicester & District League.
Amazingly, it only took The Reds two years after joining to win the league!
More success followed in the 2013/14 and 2014/15 in which they finished runners up in both campaigns.
This would have earned them promotion to the UCL Division One, hover, they couldn’t take it at that time due to failing ground grading regulations.
This led to them moving to a new ground which they still play at today, The Melton Sports Village.
The ground includes a 135 seat stand and an artificial pitch that was installed in 2021.
Last season was definitely a success for the reds on the pitch. They ended up finishing 4th in
the UCL Premier Division North accumulating a total of 79 points. Lots of these points were thanks to top scorer Kairo Edwards-John who netted a total of 17 goals in the league, a dangerous player.
The Reds also have a few famous ex-players, and Levi Porter is definitely the best of the bunch. The 36-year-old winger only played for Melton Town from 2018 to 2019.
