Established in 1963 was founded by former officials of Boston United in fear their club would fold. They play their home games at Tattershall Road that has a 6,000 capacity (450 seated) and received their record attendance of 2,700 in 1970 in a Boston derby playing against Boston Utd in the 3rd FA Cup qualifying round.

The Poachers finished in 6th racking up 67 points in the UCL Premier Division North, with many points being thanks to Fraser Bayliss who scored 21 goals in their previous campaign.

In terms of records, their best FA Cup performance was the first round in the 1976/77 season in which they bowed out to Barnsley in a tough 3-1 loss. The FA Trophy is a bit more of a success story, as the Poachers reached the second round in the 1979/80 season, beating Heanor town 3-1 in the first round but losing out in the second to A P Leamington in a 2-1 defeat. The FA vase was a better yet performance from the Poachers, reaching the Semi-finals of the cup in the 1993/94 season. Unfortunately, they couldn’t go all the way, thanks to a good performance from Taunton Town, who beat them in a narrow 1-0 victory

Boston have had many successful former players but the one that stands out is all time club top scorer Gary Bull who scored 201 goals spanning 7 years and even managed to score 57 goals in the 2006-07 season! Bull also played for many current Premier League teams like Southampton (1986-88), Nottingham Forest (1993-95 scoring 1 goal) and Brighton (1995 scoring 3 goals).

Most recently the two teams clashed at the Jakemans in the Lincolnshire cup final with the poachers winning out on a cold and rainy evening.
