Nicknamed the Stones, Blackstones was founded in 1891 making the club older that the league they play in by 4 years!
They play their home fixtures at Lincoln Road of which hosts 1000 people with 100 seats.
The Stones currently sit 7th one division above us accumulating 29 points in 19 matches and haven’t seen 3 points in 3 consecutive league games in which their last two have been losses coming into this match. However, they are not to be taken lightly as they advanced through an emphatic 5-1 home win against Eynesbury. Rangers, somehow, topped that with a 9-0 away win against Huntingdon Town in the first round of the tournament.
Form hasn’t really been a problem for us as we have only lost 2 of our last seven (3 wins and 2 draws) one of the losses being on penalties after a 2-2 away draw against Barton.
As far back as their history goes, Blackstones have won the same league (Peterborough & District) in 3 different divisions (Premier, Division One and Division Two), won the UCL Premier Division Knock-Out cup, 1 Lincolnshire Senior Trophy and 3 Lincolnshire Senior ‘A’ Cups.
Their best FA Vase performance came in the 2007/8 season where they lost 3-2 in the fourth round (round of 32) to runner-up Lowestoft Town.
In terms of well-known ex-players, one stands out in Steve Collins, who won 216 caps in 2 different spells at the Posh with 3 goals for the club during his career, in the 80s. He also played for professional clubs Southend United and Lincoln City.
Former Ranger Luke Hunnings could well feature for the vistors in this match.
