Tonight we make the long trip to the banks of the Humber for a cup tie with Barton Town FC.

Barton Town, ‘The Swans’ our opponents toight, were formed in 1995 as Barton Town and Barton Old Boys merged.

They play their home games at Marsh Lane which can host up to 3,000 spectators in which 240 of them are seated.

Rangers will look to continue their form after a 9-0 empathic victory at Jubilee park whereas Barton will look to end their winless streak tomorrow having not seen a victory in their last 6 games (3 draws & 3 losses) with their victory coming away against Goole AFC.

The man who represents the most threat to our defence may be Tom Waudby who has netted 13 times in 14 appearances and scored in their last 2 games.

The season after their merger in 1995 Barton won the Lincolnshire League and would wait 9 years to see their next piece of silverware in the Central Midlands League as Supreme Division Champions in 2005/06 and most recently winning the Northern Counties East League in 2021/22.

Between this period they recorded their best run in the FA Cup beating the preliminary rounds entering the First Qualifying Round and ultimately losing out 5-0 to Bardon Hill Sports in the 2009/10 season. More recently in 2014/15 they reached the 2nd round of the FA Vase eliminated by Marske United in a 4-1 away loss.

Current League 2 player Harvey Cartwright enjoyed a loan spell will Barton in 2019 from Hull City and spent a brief amount of last season on loan to Posh who never utilised the young keeper and went to Wycombe to complete the 2022/23 season as he’s currently on loan to Grimsby. Also notable is the fact that he earnt a cap at U18 and U20 level for England.
