Swaffham Town (The Pedlars)
Here is a little bit about the Rangers’ host for the friendly game on Saturday
Swaffham Town (The Pedlars) were established in 1892.
Their first real taste of silverware came around 60 years later when winning the Norfolk junior cup consecutively (1950/51 and 1951/52).
67 years after its establishment, Swaffham Town moved to the ground they still call their home today, Shoemakers Lane. Astonishingly, the pedlars only bought this site for £250!
In terms of recent silverware, their best year of football was the 2018/19 season where they had their most impressive FA Vase Performance. They were eliminated in the 3rd round losing 2-1 to Stowmarket on replay after 0-0 Draw and then they were crowned champions of The Division One North League.
Most recently in the 2022/23 season, the pedlars finished 14th in the Thurlow Nunn League with Keiran Bruce being their top scorer, netting 13 goals in 34 appearances.
The highest level the club has ever reached in terms of league football, was step 5 in the English Footballing Pyramid.
