Result: Clarets 10 – 0 Rippinghale & Folkingham (R&F)

The second meeting of the two teams this season and the Clarets didn’t want a repeat of the last game. The Clarets got back to winning ways against Pinchbeck following their first defeat of the season, so it was important that the winning momentum continued.

The Clarets began proceedings and in no mood to mess about with this fixture made the R&F team uncomfortable as within the first 2mins the ball from the centre spot was fed back to Matt Holland, whose pass to Sam Bell on the Clarets left wing, lays in George Cushen for a run from the left side of the R&F goal. George with his right foot let off a shot, goal, 1-0 Clarets.

The Clarets kept control of the game and had bouts of good possession, allowing them to pass the ball through the whole team.
The Clarets kept up the pressure pinning R&F to their own half and it wasn’t long before another goal was going to come for the Clarets. For their efforts the Clarets were awarded a corner, it was floated in by Ewan McCracken and the ball fell to Dan Malcolmson who was positioned in the middle of the goal, Dan shot, in seconds the ball flew passed the R&F keeper and settled in the left hand corner of the goal, 2-0 Clarets.

The third goal was scored after some sublime team work finishing with a one two pass between James Russell and Dan Malcolmson, which then split the R&F defence to allow James to run at the final defender, beat him and let loose with a powerful drive to make it 3-0 Clarets.

Half time was approaching and R&F had barely stepped into the Clarets half, when they did the attacks were dealt with by Callum Cawthorn, Isaac Fleming and Matt Holland.

It was the final attack of the half which started in the Clarets defence, James Russell receiving the ball on the Clarets left from Ewan McCracken, James shot towards goal, again it beat the R&F keeper, and James had scored his second of the game and the Clarets 4th. 4-0 Clarets.

Half Time Clarets 4 – 0 R&F

Half time saw some changes for the Clarets, Matt Holland made way for Archie Parkinson, and Isaac Fleming for Joe Goldsmith.
Immediately after the start of the second half the Clarets started where they finished and James Russell on receiving the ball beat one player and lets off a goal-bound shot, the ball stroked the back of the net and secured James’ hat-trick and the Clarets 5th of the game. 5-0 Clarets.

It wasn’t long after the re-start that James was back in the thick of it winning back possession for the Clarets heading towards the R&F box was Ewan McCracken, James played a perfectly weighted pass in front Ewan who stroked the ball passed the R&F keeper, 6-0 Clarets.

With the Clarets dominating possession and the score line, Callum Cawthorn started to defend higher up the pitch to support the midfield, the ball came his way, after some good ball control Callum laid off a pass to substitute Owen Jacobs whose fast feet created some space, enough for a shot to be released, goal, 7-0 Clarets.

It was just before the 6th goal the heads of the R&F players started to drop, they could not provide an answer to the onslaught the Clarets were giving them, when R&F did have any whiff of the ball they were quickly closed down and lost possession, only for another Clarets attack to begin.

The Clarets continued knowing that it could come down to goal difference continued their goal spree, the ball was crossed in from the left by Sam Bell and nodded by Owen Jacobs into the path of Ewan McCracken, Ewan controlled the ball well opened his body and let off a shot, goal, the R&F keeper picking the ball out of the net and the Clarets up 8-0.

Clarets now showing no mercy for their opponents continued to stretch the R&F formation, James Russell playing the ball from the right into the centre, Dan Malcolmson saw George Cushen breaking on the left. Dan made the pass through the R&F defence and as George ran onto it, he was clear in and only the R&F keeper to beat, the keeper committed himself and as he did George let the ball go as he his shot went over the keeper to nestle in back of the net, goal, 9-0 Clarets.

The game coming to an end and James Russell again on the ball found Owen Jacobs in the middle of the park, Owen went solo beating 3 players, before being free on goal, he finished his individual brilliance off with a sublime shot beating the R&F keeper and finishing the game, goal, 10-0 Clarets.
