By Match Scribe
After the good game between the sides in the reverse fixture at Christmas, where Rangers got the result with the best share ....
of 8 goals, this game did not get close to providing the crowd with the same level of entertainment.
Chances were rare.
Deeping saw Tyler Walker pick out Dan Flack whose lobbed effort from the edge of the box was too high, Charlie Coulson’s long ball into Scott Mooney, his good touch created space for a 25 yard drive that Star custodian Dan Smith saved well to push away.
Star full back Jack Bloodworth let fly from 40 odd yards but failed to trouble home keeper Lewis Elsom.
The visitors took the lead on 32 mins, a ball over the top just beat Rangers’ youngster Cameron Baldock-Smith, Jake Sansby collected to shoot past the advancing Elsom into the corner.
Rangers saw Mooney feed Walker wide, he delivered a good cross for Dan Jarvis to meet but the header glanced wide, Walker fed Flack to send a good ball into the goal area where good defending from Matt Cox nicked the ball away as Mooney was about to pounce.
