It is with great disappointment and regret that Deeping Rangers FC announce ....

that, despite a tremendous effort behind the scenes, we are unable to compete in the Uhlsport United Counties Reserve Division this season and have therefore resigned our Reserve team the League.

Unfortunately we have had a significant number of potential players change their minds about signing very close to the season starting.

This would’ve meant being almost wholly reliant on our U18 squad - subsequently our manager stepped down, and we have been unable to find a replacement manager or any additional players to support the U18’s.

Having re-entered the Division last season, with what was in essence an Under 18 squad, most of whom are destined University this year, our experience showed us that we could not pursue a Reserve Division campaign with such a squad again and, as this season's Under 18's are basically an Under 17 team, the predicament was even more acute.

Expecting a group of young U18’s to potentially play in excess of 60 matches a season would be completely irresponsible in our opinion and as such we had no option but to withdraw from the League.

With a 'hole' in our player pathway DRFC will now undertake some deep considerations with a view to filling the gap for the future.
