Rangers have admitted fielding an ineligible player in in the semi-final victory over Premier Division leaders Daventry Town, the player was sent on as an 89th minute substitute in the semi-final clash, with Rangers leading 5 -2.

It came to light post the match that the player had previously played for Boston Town in the competition, at that point we reported ourselves to the UCL.

While accepting the technicality of the misdemeanour, we do not believe the ruling takes into account the elements involved on the impact of the result, which was clearly in our favour at the time of the incident.

We find it hard to take after such a sterling performance and comprehensive result and the Club share with Mike Goode, and his team, the extreme disappointment the situation has caused.

DRFC now have the official notification and are deciding on our course of action.
