Skipper's double sees Rangers edge past Corinths
Rangers secured victory with three late goals in an 8 minute period, with time was ebbing away, as they again showed their persistence against a ..
Corinths team that made them work hard for the result.
The home side were having the better of things early on, Henry Dunn’s intended pass for Scott Coupland hit a defender for the rebound to fall for Dunn, his shot bringing a good save from Rothwell keeper Adam North.
North was called on again as David Burton-Jones picked out the advanced Jason Kilbride, he cut inside to drive low to the far corner for North to take.
The game drifted into a toil but it was the home side who made the breakthrough on 24 mins, keeper Richard Stainsby sent a long clearance down field, Louis Hamilton’s touch picked out Scott Mooney to play Coupland free, he advanced and slid the ball past the approaching keeper as the visitors were appealing for a foul that the officials did not give.
Rothwell levelled on 36 mins, Deeping full back Tom Smith was left without support, Tom Mills was in behind him, a look up and pass picked out Corinths skipper Jordan Henson at the far post to apply a neat finish.
The visitors were close to taking the lead on the stroke of half time, Hamilton’s rash challenge conceded a free kick, Lewis O’Dell rolled to Henson whose shot was blocked away for Mills to hit goalwards where Luke Hunnings blocked well to thwart the danger.

The Clarets introduced subs Michael Simpson and Dan Flack to try and change things and the team gained some impetus, Burton-Jones sent a glorious cross field ball for Flack to get to the goal line, his pull back was just nicked away from Kilbride by Corinths' Dan Cooper.
With the game into the last 15 mins Rangers hit the goal streak and took the lead again on 77 mins, Coulson’s corner was met by Burton-Jones, his first effort hit a defender on the line but his second touch took the ball into net.
A minute later and the lead was increased, Kilbride’s shot from the edge of the area was push out by keeper North for Dunn to despatch low into goal.
