UCL Big Match Preview

Rangers go into Saturday's home game against Kirby Muxloe on the back of a 3 game unbeaten run in the UCL that they will be looking to extend to keep in touch with the other title contenders.

Manager Michael Goode is determined to concentrate solely on his team and not get carried away with what Deeping's rivals get up to. Goode said "We just need to focus on our own performances, win as many games as we can and see where it gets us at the end of the season."

Bizarrely, Kirby have yet to draw any of their 25 League games and currently sit 10th in the UCL while their recent League form has seen them win 4 of their last 6 matches.

Deeping are still not back to full strength with Dan Schiavi absent for another week while Jonny Clay is still at least a fortnight away from a return from his injury suffered against Holbeach last month. However, Goode is looking at the positives the absences bring, "Both Rob Conyard and Stewart Barrand have been doing well for the U18's and impressing during training with the Senior team. They both need a chance with the First team and will get it."

Last season's corresponding match saw Rangers run out comfortable 4-0 winners with Scott Coupland bagging a hat-trick. A repeat performance on Saturday would tick all of the boxes required.

Kick off at The Haydon Whitham Stadium is 3.00pm. The tea bar will be serving hot food and drinks while the Sports & Social Club will be open before and after the game.
