Deeping Rangers Football Club are pleased to announce that Richard Knighton will be joining the club as Head of Youth with immediate effect.

Richard will join the Club's Main Committee and he and his team will be responsible for the development of all junior and youth football, Richard will also join the U18 management team.

Richard commented:
Deeping is a great club with a huge amount of potential and their values firmly fit with mine. I look forward to working with all areas of the junior and youth sections of the club. Having met with the committee, and hearing their ambitions for the future it was an easy decision to make. I feel very honoured to have been offered this opportunity at such an exciting time for the club, and can't wait to get started.

General Manager Leigh Porter commented :
As soon as we heard Richard was not in football I contacted him immediately, someone with his experience, contacts and enthusiasm needs to be developing young footballers in the local area, we met and his views on youth and junior football mirrored ours exactly, he will also bring his expertise to our midweek U18’s which will be invaluable

Club Chairman Paul Smith comments:
For the most of this season the Club has been running without a Head of the Junior & Youth Section and despite the great efforts of Secretaries Tim Cooper and Alan Smith it was essential that we filled the position for future.

On meeting Richard it was very evident that he will be a great asset to the Club as we look to improve on our good base at the Junior & Youth level and we all look forward to working with someone of such experience and enthusiasm.

This appointment, on top of Leigh's and Sarah-Jane Bond's(Commercial Manager) has really reinforced DRFC and offers an exciting future.
