Deeping Rangers Football Club are pleased to announce a change of role and three new additions to the committee with immediate effect.

Leigh Porter has moved into the vacant Vice Chairman’s role from his position of General Manager

Chris Miller joins the club as our new Commercial Manager.

Chris will work alongside Sarah-Jane Bond who will move to Commercial Executive and continue the great work and improvements she has made to the Commercial department.

Chris is a prominent person within the local business community who has some great contacts and importantly shares the vision of what we are trying to achieve at Deeping Rangers.

He lives a stone’s throw from the ground and has been a regular at games this season.

Reg Grundy joins the committee as the clubs new Marketing Manager.

Reg has a son playing in the DRFC Junior section and worked with us recently where he managed a very successful social media campaign surrounding our FA Cup fixture against Kidderminster Harriers and we are delighted to have him “full time” now.

Reg has a lifetime of experience working for a huge global media organisation, where he’s still based, so again this is a real coup for the club.

Martin Fisher is our third new member who joins the Finance Team working closely with Club Treasurer Kevin Davenport.

Martin is a qualified accountant who has worked with Leigh for a number of years - his quality of work, passion for football and experience in all things financial will be a real asset to the club as we continue to develop the off field activities.

Club Chairman Paul Smith comments:

As part of his General Manager role, Leigh was tasked with 'bringing a fresh pair of eyes' to the workings of DRFC and making proposals to the Committee on areas for improvement as we look to strengthen the 'off field' part of the Club and this has resulted in these additions.

Leigh has done some sterling work on this and has been very influential in getting Chris, Reg and Martin to join the Club as we pursue the development of DRFC.

The Commercial department is one of the most important and despite Sarah-Jane's very good work it is an area where she needs additional support and we believe we now have a very good team going forward

The Marketing side of our Club is where we had a big void and Reg's experience and business acumen will be a great asset for us.

The Finance element is often overlooked within organisations like ours but it’s one of the most important we have and having Martin and Kevin working closely together will enhance the great work Kevin does already.

Finally, Leigh's move to Vice Chairman is a natural move to fill the empty Officer position as his involvement with the Club increases.

These announcements strengthens the DRFC 'Off Field' Team and we look forward to their contributions as we continue to push our Club forward.
