Change Of Surroundings For Our Reserves For Next Season

Deeping Rangers are delighted to announce that our Reserves will be playing in the United Counties League (UCL) Reserve Division from next season.

At a meeting held last week, the Club’s Executive Committee unanimously agreed the proposed move.

Following on from this season’s reintroduction and success of our midweek U18 team, and with an eye on creating a clear pathway through to Senior men’s football, the Club made the difficult decision to withdraw the Reserves from the Peterborough & District Football League (PDFL) and take the step up to UCL football from the 2018/19 season.

Rangers Chairman, Paul Smith, said “The Club have discussed the pros and cons of making the move many times this season. Ultimately though, with a number of our U18’s making the transition to the First team squad and the starting eleven, it was clear to us that now is the right time to make the move to give more of our youth players a chance to develop while playing at a good level of football and at grounds that we hope will become the norm for them in the coming years. It will be a wrench to be leaving the PDFL after many years but, for the good of Deeping Rangers and our future, we had to make that decision.”

The Reserve team Manager’s position will be vacant from the end of the current season and anybody with an interest in taking up the role should register their interest to the Club Secretary, Austin Goldsmith, via email to secretary@deepingrangersfc.co.uk by Sunday 27th May 2018.
