Having finished 2010/2011 in a respectable 5th place in the league table, it was looking good for the new season with several departures, Joe Lefley,Matt Randall, Thomas Horton, Callum Clarke, Jason Hardwick, Mike Raftis and James Chatham all moving on, we wish them well and thank them. We would like to welcome new recruits Nathan Law, Perry Rix, Ollie Donkersley, Aaron Shaheed, Danny Horvarth, Anthony Bell, Ashton Capes and soon  to re-sign Kieran Gregory, we wish you all well and hope you have a successful stay with Deeping Rangers.

The fixtures could not have been harder with a opening fixture at last seasons champions Netherton,who despite losing several players will be a tough match to start any season and then incredibly no fixtures for over a month and the first fixture back is a cup tie, i think the youth league fixture computer has thrown a wobbly !!

18th September : Away v Netherton Lost 2-0

Deeping began the new season with this tough fixture first match, you could see in the Deeping lads faces before the match a touch of trepidation and that showed in our initial play but as the match wore on Deeping began to show a lot more self belief that they could mtach and compete with Netherton, despite conceding a couple of goals Deeping created a few chances of there own and with a bit of luck could have easily scored a goal themselves. Netherton despite not being as strong as last season were worthy winners on the day.

16th October : Home v Peterborough Boys Cup Won 4-1 

After what has seemed an eternity for our 2nd game of the season, it could have been forgiven for the team to play like strangers, playing matches is nothing like training to build up the team bond and spirit. Deeping went into this fixture knowing Peterborough Boys were top of Div 2 and would put up a spirited and determined showing. It was Deepings quality finishing that proved to be the real differance between the sides with a great goal from Ben Cowles, two from Lawrie Bacon and a goal from Nathan Law, the lads put in a determined performance with the understanding from matches played being missing, through no fault of the players or managers.

30th October Away v Holbeach Drew 2-2

Deeping v Holbeach at all levels of football is always a fixture that is looked forward to, being fairly local rivals and matches tend to be cracking enetertainment. Deeping went into this game knowing it would be a tough fixture as both teams had been promoted through the divisions together over the seasons and matches had always been tough. This game lived upto the usual fair with Deeping being positive and looking to try to take the game to Holbeach and they got there rewards with 2 first half goals through Lawrie Bacon and 01st of the season for Anthony Bell. 2-0 to Deeeping at half time. I always think 2-0 is strange score for a team as they are not far enough ahead to be comfortable and it gives the opposition a chance to get back into the game, and that is what happened in this game as Holbeach came back at Deeping with 2 second half goals to level the match and both teams had to settle for a well earned point. With both teams left to wonder what might have been, Holbeach if they had been a bit more switched on first half and Deeping if they had maintained the form of the first half.
