With regret the tournament committee has taken the difficult decision to cancel the tournaments planned for 21st, 28th & 29th August.

Despite interest being shown at all age groups, we have only had a handful of teams enter and with the first tournament just over a week away we could not wait any longer. Whilst the fundamental reason for hosting a tournament is for children to enjoy their football in a safe and organised environment, we must also have one eye on the finances and with the low number of teams entering this year's event we would have been running at a loss once we had paid for trophies, referees, first aiders etc.

The committee will meet during the coming season to review the time of year and format of this once traditional season opener and we hope to be back next season.

The Deeping Rangers FC Gordon Wilkinson Memorial Tournament is just a few weeks away!

If you run a team from Under 11 through to Under 16, then why not join us at the end of August in one of the best run and most anticipated junior and youth football tournaments in the area?

On Sunday 21st August we invite Under 16 teams to compete against each other and in line with new FA guidelines, for the first time we will be running an Under 11's 9v9 tournament on Sunday 28th August and on the same day we will also host a more traditional 11v11 Under 12 tournament. And finally, on Bank Holiday Monday 29th August we are inviting Under 13's and Under 14's to our Outgang Road facility.

• Season 2011/12 age groups
• One week before the season starts = excellent opportunity to prepare
• Just 2 age groups per day = quick and smooth running fixtures
• All finals on our first team pitch in front of our main stand
• Licensed bar open from 12 each day & hot and cold food available
• On site car parking spaces available for over 100 vehicles
• Medals for all finalists as well as winners trophies
• Fully qualified officials and first aiders
